グランド・オープン時から気になってはいた店。メンソールの立場からすると、かなり行きやすい立地条件であるにもかかわらず、なかなか行けなかったんだけど、そのままにしておくといつまでも行けないので、思い切ってエイッ、ヤーッで行ってきた。気になっていた店ではあるんだけど、ブログとかを見てみると比較的ネガティブな内容のものが多かったように思う。なので、余計に行ってみたい気持ちが強まってきてて、それがついに頂点に達して爆発したような感じ。メンソールは、いろいろな店のレポートを書いてるけど、すべて書いてるわけではない。理由は、味が期待はずれだった、サービスが期待はずれだった、内装が期待はずれだったとかいろいろあるんだけど、そうした店のレポートを書こうとして、その店であったことを思い出したりすると、再び腹が立ってきて、胸くそが悪くなって来たりする。要は、食事中に感じた不快感を思い出すことによって、それを追体験してしまうので、そうした店のレポートは書かない。逆に、ネガティブなことが書いてあるということは、不愉快な思いもしたけど、それ以上の楽しい体験をしたはずだと思うからで、また、その店の今後に期待してあえて苦言を呈しているからだと思えてしまうので、本当に嫌いで二度と行きたくない店なら、ブログなんか書かないはずだと思ってるところがあるので、メンソールが気になっている店で、まだ行っていなくて、ネガティブなブログを見つけたりしたら行ってみたくなったりする。
さて、メンソールの記憶では、17:30オープンだと思っていたので、17:30に店に到着できるようにすべての段取りをつけてから予約電話したら、18:00オープンだと言われてしまった。まっ、これは仕方ない。17:50くらいまで時間をつぶしてたら看板が点いたので、扉を開けたら席に案内されて、メニューを渡され、内容の説明をしてくれた。オーダーテイクは18:00からと言うことらしい。メニューを長めながら今日の料理構成を決める時間というのは、ある意味料理を楽しむ中で一番のウェイトを占めると言ってもいい。大人数で予約するとコース料理になってしまって、こうしたことで思い悩むことがない。この感覚はちょっと忘れてた

魚系でハーブを聞かせたライト系のフレンチというのが、店に行くまでのメンソールの印象だったんだけど、小鳩のローストとか茶美豚のパテとかのスタンダードなフレンチが多い。味付けもフルムダンベールを使ったものがあったりして、それほどライトじゃないのかもしれない。
メインの肉料理は三種類用意されてたんだけど、メンソールは反射的に小鳩のローストをオーダーした。ちなみにコースはAコース(3.580円)とBコース(4,850円)、それとシェフのお任せコース(6,000円)がある。AコースとB円のコースはプリフィックススタイルになっていて、Aコースの場合、アミューズ、前菜、スープ、メイン、デザート、コーヒーが付く。アラカルトで頼むよりもかなりお徳。Bコースの場合は、メインに加えて魚料理も付く。
一皿目のアミューズはキッチュ、前菜は茶美豚のパテ。かなり濃厚な味わいでワインが進む。魚料理は鰺で、メインの小鳩。鳩独特の味はあるけど、それほど癖はないので、ジビエが苦手でも食べやすいかも。
内装は、可愛い系なので女性客が大半を占める。パンは自家製ではないらしいが、自家製ハーブバターと無塩バターが付く。ウェイトレスはフレンドリーで対応はいいし、料理もスタンダードで王道で、否定的な要素は何一つない。あるとすれば、店内にハーブの小鉢がいくつかレイアウトしてあって、そのせいか小羽虫が多いことくらい。ブログでは、ランチの記事が多いので、ランチとディナーでは違うかもしれないけど、ディナータイムはいい感じだと思う。
